About the event
In this two and a half hour workshop we will be using meditation, mindfullness and art as therapy techniques and practices to explore how journalling can be used as a creative, mental health outlet. This workshop will also focus on and encourage creativity, self care and social connection.
We will begin the afternoon by connecting with each other and getting to know the people who we will be spending this afternoon of self care with. You will then be invited to take part in a guided meditation and mindfulness practices to calm the mind and help get the creative juices flowing. Everyone will receive their own journal to use throughout the afternoon that you will got to take home at the end of the workshop. We will spend some time decorating the covers of our journals using art making and collaging in order to set the intention of your journal. Then we will spend the remainder of the afternoon engaging in art as therapy activities and practices in our journals. Throughout the workshop open and honest discussion around mental health, self care and creativity as an outlet will be encouraged.
Included in this workshop:
- All materials will be provided
- You will receive an individual journal for you to take home
- Take home resources & journalling tips and tricks will be provided so that you can continue your journalling practice at home
- Snacks and beverages will be provided throughout the afternoon
This workshop is open to all no matter your creative skill or knowledge of/experience with art as therapy or journalling. Whether you want to learn more about art as therapy and journalling, meet new people and make some new friends or just engage in an afternoon of creativity and self care, this workshop will have something for you!
