About the event

This full day retreat will take a holistic approach to self care and mental wellbeing and will be broken up into three sessions: Yoga & Mediation, Food & Nutrition, and Art Making. As well as being full of relaxation and self care, the retreat will also provide information and resources so that you will leave equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to continue these self care practices in your day to day life.

Yoga & Meditaion

Our day will begin with a slow guided yoga & meditation session focused on teaching how movement and meditation can be of benefit to your mental health. During the yoga session we will be guided through moves and poses that will directly benefit our mental wellbeing as well as learning why and how these movements have a positive affect on our mental health. The yoga session will include mindfulness, meditation and breathing exercises. 

Food & Nurtrition

After the yoga & meditation session we will be delving into an information session on food and nutrition and how what we put into our bodies can affect our mental health. This session will include discussion and resources around how our gut health and mental health are connected and how we can utilise nutrition for our mental wellbeing. Not only will we be learning about food and nutrition, we will be putting what we learn into action! We will be making our own lunch and afternoon snacks using foods that have a positive affect on our mental health. While cooking our lunch we will be sharing tips and tricks on how to find joy in cooking and quick and easy meals to make that are good for your mental health. 

Art Making

In the final session of the retreat we will be exploring how creativity and arts & crafts can be utilised as a mental health outlet. We will be engaging in different Art as Therapy practices and activities that will engage our senses, body & mind. The Art Making session will provide information and resources and will include mindfullness, meditation and breathing exercises.

Thoughout the retreat we will be facilitating and encouraging open and honest discssion and sharing in our lived experiences. 

All materials as well as lunch, snacks and beverages will be provided.
