About the event

In this four hour workshop you will learn the craft of weaving. We will learn and practice basic weaving techniques and create our own woven wall hanging.

This isn't your average craft workshop though! Throughout the afternoon we will be discussing and learning about how creativity can be utilised as a mental health outlet. You will be guided through art as therapy, mindfullness and meditation activities and will learn ways in which you can incorperate these practices into your crafting and everyday life. This workshop is suitable to any creative skill level or experience. We will be focusing on the creative process rather than the final product and there is no pressure at all to be “good” at art.

It can be really hard to make and maintain friendships when you are struggling with your mental health so this workshops are a great opportunity to meet like minded people and make new friends! In a peer support envirnment we will be facilitating meaningful social connections and open and honest discussion surrounding mental health and self care.

All materials as well as yummy snacks and beverages will be provided. You will leave the workshop with your handmade creation as well as take home resources and reccomendations to continue crafting as a mental health outlet.

We can't wait to connect & craft with you! xxx

The workshop venue is wheelchair accessible and has accessible and gender neutral toilets. We provide vegan and gluten free snack options. Please let us know if you have any other accessibility needs or dietary requirements and we will do our best to cater to them. Mossfolk provides a space that welcomes all but prioritises the comfort and safety of women, POC, LGBTIQ+ and marginalised folk.
